Kamala Harris Would Throw White Floridians to Sharks in the Name of Equity

 

In his Memoirs from Beyond the Grave, Chateaubriand describes an acquaintance among the emigres fleeing the French Revolution, Comte de Montlosier, as “the sort of man who would throw a slave to the sharks in the name of liberty for the human race.” There have always been such people, those who love humanity but hate individual human beings, those who break actual eggs to make theoretical omelets. 

This week we had the type in crystallized form when Vice President Kamala Harris said that the Biden administration would prioritize relief help for victims of Hurricane Ian who were residents of “communities of color” in the name of “equity.” 

So now we know – on the Left it is apparently appropriate to ignore or discount the suffering of certain American citizens if they happen to be of a disfavored race, in this case, white. It’s truly amazing: things that no one would have dreamed of saying even five years ago, the hard leftists in the Biden administration now trumpet proudly.

By the way, my daughter lives a couple of hundred yards from the water in Ft. Myers. She got out safely, thank God. But perhaps you can understand why what this sort of casual cruelty by a wealthy and privileged woman gets so far under my skin.
